Reply:
The New model Bye Laws 2009 for Co-operative societies has gone into some
important changes viz. earlier the sinking fund was allowed to be utilized for any
structural/major repair of the building only with the prior permission/approval of
Registering authority, the power now has been allocated to the General Body of CHS,
subject to an Architects formal recommendation for necessity of such a repairs.
Besides for redevelopment of the buildings of the co-operative housing societies Bye-
law no. 176 has been incorporated, which allows the redevelopment of the CHS’s
vacant space/ buildings in conformity with section 79 (A) of the Maharashtra Co-
operative Societies Act, 1960 in conjunction with GR dated 03/01/2009 of Govt of
Maharashtra dealing with the subject.
